Of these elements, the lighter ones – Hydrogen, Lithium, Beryllium and Boron were created at the beginning of the universe 13.8 billion years ago.

The heaviest elements were made by nuclear reactions in the cores of dead stars (in a process known as Stellar Nucleosynthesis), and distributed across the universe upon those stars dying and turning supernova.

All of these chemical elements, when governed by the laws of physics, comprise human life. They comprise love, hate, laughter, pain, sex and depression.
